Hello! I'm Ana and I just started this blog, bare with me on this because I'm just finding out how to use it. So now, a little about me. If you already know me, well here's a recap of all things Ana! ;) I grew up in a smallllll town in Texas that is about 1/2 an hour away from Mexico, Edinburg. Yes, I'm Mexican American && I love my heritage! I am bilingual and just recently graduated from UT Pan American with a Bachelors in Elementary Bilingual Education. :D I love kids, especially the little ones!
But let me start from the what I call my beginning. I got a job working at Applebee's in September of '06, which was also my first semester in college. I had recently gotten out of a long term relationship. (Can you believe it was four years long, and all during high school?!) Anyway, when I started at Applebee's I met the LOVE of my life, Florencio, or Flo for short.
Our adventures began, as wild (not that wild) teenagers out on the prowl for good times. Our friends at the time had began to make trips to Mexico to hang & drink. Who can say no to cheap beer?! ($1 beers, can't beat that!) Well, the first time I had ever been drunk was because of this man pictured above who graciously pitched in to buy me a couple drinks. Needless to say, I was in no condition to drive home and he EAGERLY offered to drive me home with one of his friends following behind in his truck. How nice of him, huh? The rest is kind of history. Except for our first date, which was pretty funny because we both were completely nervous which made us somewhat blind to each others hints of attraction. First of all, we scheduled it on a day where I had a night class. So after class, I had to rush home, get ready, and rush back to meet him at the movies. At this point I'm thinking we're going to a theater by his place because I was in La la land. Boy, was I wrong!!! So I went to the wrong theater in the city he lived in (which isn't too far just a short drive but still!), so I had to drive back to the theater in my city (which was literally 5 minutes away from my house and school). I don't know why I hadn't thought we were going there since it was the closest. Any way, he switched our movie time and we sat in the lounge area waiting for our time. After several hints of being cold, and even being scared of the movie (hug me for security?!), the movie was over and now the rest is history! We often talk about our first date and how helplessly retarded we both were, but it's fine because I found my other half. The next big milestone was when we got our first dog together. She was supposed to be his, but we didn't want to keep her at his apartment, so she stayed with me at my house. This is us with our baby girl rezie. <3
We both fell in love with her instantly, and decided to get another dog. This time, it would stay at his apartment because my parents already own some dogs as well. Most decisions we make are usually spontaneous. So one spontaneous afternoon, we were talking about getting another dog and we just drove to the Humane Society and looked around. After looking at all the dogs, Flo knew Jack was the perfect one after seeing him for only a second. They had an instant connection and he came home with us that day. Here we are with my Jacky boy. <3
Last December (2010), Flo graduated with a Bachelors in Criminal Justice at the same college. He completed this the semester before I graduated. So now we're both college grads looking for bigger && better things. We still don't live together because I want to wait to be married, but we have tried it before so I know I won't have problems living with him. Right now I'm just focused on finding a teaching job so that we can be financially stable in our future. Thats pretty much my story, but if you have any question don't hesitate to ask! :D
